Lamentatio
Extracts from the CD recording, April 2022

Ensemble Linnamuusikud's upcoming CD is focusing on songs of remorse and lamentations. In both personal and general sufferings, we still tend to look for the culprit from outside not wanting to look inside at our own part. It is not easy to recognise the extent to which oneself is the cause in the midst of global evil and war. Perhaps it is easier to think about what an individual could do to alleviate the evil that has broken out, and what or who is even able to slow down the triumph of evil if our real enemies are not men, but "powers and authorities, rulers of darkness, evil spirits under heaven?" (Eph 6:12) It is evident that man cannot stand against such adversaries on his own. It has led us to "teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing with all our heart in gratitude to God!" (Col.3:16)
